Historique :	Cet élément de manteau de cheminée a dû être exécuté à l'occasion du mariage de Louis de Ventadour et de Catherine de Beaufort en 1445. Oeuvre découverte dans les ruines du château de Ventadour (dans la troisième salle du logis) lors des fouilles archéologiques dirigées par Robert Joudoux en 1969. Lors du classement, propriété du duc de Lévis-Mirepoix, qui en fait donation à la commune de Moustier-Ventadour avec le château en juin 1988.
