Historique :	Ce récipient devait être placé à l'origine dans l'armoire des fonts baptismaux. Il s'apparente aux ustensiles de ménage en cuivre de même époque : la fin du 17e ou le début du 18e siècle.

Observations :	Très rare objet de dinanderie portant des poinçons d'ancien régime.
Précision sur l'inscription :	Insculpés sur le couvercle, poinçon de fabricant non identifié : lettres I et L. ; lettre couronnée : R. La lettre couronnée R est très rare. Il pourrait s'agir d'un poinçon de qualité de l'alliage utilisé et de la fabrication, apposé par les maîtres-gardes de la corporation sur les objets en cuivre contrôlés dans certaines provinces françaises, à la fin du 17e et au tout début du 18e siècle, avant l'apparition du C couronné (selon article de Lise Moor : Le poinçon au R couronné, dans : L'estampille-L'objet d'Art, n° 342, décembre 1999).
