Historique :	Cette statue de saint Jean-Baptiste du 18e siècle est à rapprocher de celle de Sarran pour la façon dont le pan de melote qui passe sur l'épaule est rattaché à la ceinture (cf. notice PM19001054).

Matériaux :	bois : taillé, peint, doré
Observations :	Sans être exceptionnelle, cette oeuvre est d'un bon classicisme rustique, et contribue à la richesse du mobilier de l'église de Seilhac dont aucun élément n'est encore protégé au titre des monuments historiques (I. Rooryck, 15-9-1975).
Précision sur_l'état :	L'agneau et le phylactère de la croix ont disparu.
Précision_sur la protection :	Arrêté préfectoral : Saint Jean-Baptiste, statue, bois sculpté peint polychrome et doré, XVIIIème siècle.
Précision_sur la representation :	Debout, vêtu de la melote laissant le buste et l'épaule gauche nus, le saint lève les yeux vers le ciel, son visage moustachu et barbu est encadré de longs cheveux. Il tient une croix de la main droite levée. Son bras gauche est baissé. A son pied gauche était couché l'agneau.
